Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Jum app and this website. By creating an account, you agree to them.
What Jum is
Jum is a tool for organising recurring community events — RSVP, team formation, expense tracking and settlement. Jum helps your community keep track of who paid for what and who owes whom.
Jum does not process payments
This is important: Jum does not process payments, transfer money, or hold funds on behalf of any user. Jum only tracks and displays who owes whom, based on expenses logged and approved within the app. Any actual payment happens directly between members, outside of Jum — by bank transfer, cash, or whatever method your community already uses — and is then marked as settled in the app. Jum is not a party to that payment and is not responsible for it being made.
Accounts
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account secure.
- You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account. TODO: confirm and state a minimum age.
- A no-account guest may be added to an event by a community Admin; that Admin is responsible for the accuracy of what they submit on the guest's behalf.
Community organisers
If you create or administer a community, you're responsible for how you run it — the accuracy of events you post, the expenses you approve, and communicating clearly with your members about costs and settlement. Jum provides the tool; the organiser makes the calls.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Jum to harass, defraud, or misrepresent costs to another user.
- Log expenses that didn't occur, or manipulate a settlement to avoid a balance you actually owe.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to Jum's systems.
Content you submit
You're responsible for the events, expenses, and other content you submit. Jum may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law.
Service availability
Jum is currently in private testing ahead of a public launch and is provided "as is" during this phase. Features, and this policy, may change as the product develops.
Limitation of liability
Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app (outstanding balances or unsettled events must be resolved first). We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these terms.
Governing law
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
